Braided Bonds by TreyLegit

Some friendships are chosen. Others are born into us. Braided Bonds is a tribute to the cousins who helped shape our childhood—the ones who braided our hair, shared our secrets, defended us, teased us, and made ordinary days unforgettable. Even when years pass between conversations, the connection never fades. One hug, one laugh, one familiar face, and suddenly you’re kids again. This photograph celebrates the quiet certainty that no matter where life takes us, the people who know our roots will always feel like home.

Flower Boy by TreyLegit

A tribute to the quiet strength carried by those who choose compassion over power. Flower Boy honors the man who has endured hardship without surrendering his tenderness. Like a flower blooming through concrete, he stands resilient—grounded in love, shaped by struggle, and defined not by what he has survived, but by the gentleness he continues to give. It is a reminder that true strength is found in protecting, nurturing, and remaining soft in a world that often asks us to become hard.

Prosperity by Briana Janee

Prosperity is an abstract painting inspired by the freedom that comes when we release anything that hinders our growth and embrace the path meant for us. The work reflects a state of openness, where peace, purpose, and blessings are allowed to flow freely without resistance.

This piece is straight from the remnants of my childhood. Growing up in Chicago my mother always had a subscription to Jet & Ebony magazines. I hav vivid memories of those magazines being my view into what modern black life was. It showed the beauty of black in a way that I didn’t see on the covers of the magazines at the grocery store check out counters. That iconography often shows up in my most recent work. The main subject of the piece serves as hyper realistic version of what that beauty translated to me when I was just a young boy reading comic books and watching Saturday morning cartoons. All and all it’s a mashup of my cumulative discovery of the beauty of the world around me…and ultimately myself.
